The second half of our chapter Convention is almost here! Remember to make sure you’ve signed up for DSA before the start of Convention to ensure your eligibility to participate! Members can register for the Zoom meeting here (membership will be verified upon registration).

Dates and deadlines

Amendments and resolutions must be submitted to hello@dsaneworleans.org by members in good standing by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14th. We’ll send out information about the submitted amendments and resolutions soon afterwards.

Voting procedure and Slack

As amendments and resolutions are debated during the meeting, voting will take place live using the #dues-only channel in Slack. The Convention Committee determined that Slack would be the most seamless way to vote in real-time while also tallying up votes as motions are put forward.

Members in good standing will be added to that channel before the start of Convention.

Speaking and conducting business

We use something called the “progressive stack” during meetings to give ample time and space for anyone who wants to add to a conversation or ask questions.
